About the City Prayer Breakfast

The City Prayer Breakfast (CPB) has for many years provided an annual focus for Christians who work in, or who are concerned for, the City of London to meet and pray together. This encompasses all who work in the financial or services industries commonly called 'the City', including those in Docklands and the West End.

It is the only event of its kind that takes place in the City, attracting as it does support from across the denominations and from those with no denominational affiliation.

The aims of the CPB are:

  • to encourage Christians to pray for the City, for those of all faiths and those of none who work within it, and for the influence that the City has within the UK and beyond,
  • to celebrate the community that exists amongst Christians in the City, and
  • to encourage Christians working in the City to be ambassadors for Christ within their workplaces.

All are most welcome at the breakfast, from the most senior to the most junior.

To register your interest in being invited to the CPB, either for this year or for the future, please please go to the register page.

The CPB is organised by a steering committee comprising : Rev'd Jeremy Crossley (St. Margaret's, Lothbury), Robert Hughes-Penney (Alderman), James Featherby (City Bands), John Hughesdon, Marjie Sutton (A Call to Business), Rev'd Mark O'Donoghue (St. Helen's, Bishopsgate), and Rev'd Dr. Rodney Woods (City Temple, Holborn).
